QA Engineer – Senior

The Senior QA Engineer takes on complete responsibility for the establishment, communication and implementation of a thorough QA process on iOS and Android to ensure high quality games are delivered with great gameplay experience. Leading QA on a project they will be working closely with the development teams to ensure issues are reported accurately, in a timely fashion, and that the product is of high quality for release. They will work to direct an outsource team and maximise the benefits of external resources. The Senior QA Engineer will also work closely with the QA Manager to make sure best practices are employed for their project(s).

The Senior QA Engineer is the primary point of contact on a project’s QA, reporting on issues, risks and concerns to the team. They are proactive, consistently apply QA knowledge and principles to the testing efforts and prioritise the work. The Senior QA Engineer is a QA leader both on the project and company at large, working with the QA Manager to develop QA and best practice. They should be a strong voice for QA and provide perspective based on experience, QA metrics and data, and be constantly improving quality on the project. They effectively pursues critical issues with project processes, build quality and anything else of relevance to assist with their swift resolution.

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous experience leading QA on a project, preferably in an embedded environment.
  • Advanced understanding of software QA and games development practices and terminology e.g. JIRA / Confluence, version control, regression, integration, versions.
  • Proven experience of working in all stages of the QA and project life-cycle.
  • Has worked with version control software and within development branches.
  • Experienced with agile methodologies and has worked first hand in a sprint framework.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills backed up with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and best practise.
  • Ability to use JIRA or another reporting software to produce QA metrics/reports.
  • Strong initiative and problem solving skills and ability to act decisively under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or function independently as required.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of iOS and Android hardware and software including SDKs.
  • Awareness of mobile games market on iOS and Android.
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Passion for gaming.

This is a full time position and we will not be processing applications to work in a freelance capacity.
